REED CHORUS AND COLLEGIUM MUSICUM IN A CONCERT OF HOLIDAY MUSIC
The Reed College chorus and Collegium Musicum, both directed by professor of music Virginia Hancock, will present their annual winter concert on Sunday, December 2, at 8 p.m. in Reed’s Kaul Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Reed events hotline at 503/777-7755.
The evening concert will feature a program of English holiday music for Advent and Christmas. The chorus, accompanied by harpist Heather Johnson, will sing Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols. The Collegium will perform a variety of choral music ranging from medieval carols through Renaissance works by William Byrd and Robert Parsons to twentieth-century pieces by William Walton, John Joubert, and John Tavener. Reed student Chris Hubbard ’03 will conduct the piece by Walton.
