ELLEN STAUDER APPOINTED ACTING DEAN OF THE FACULTY AT REED
Ellen K. Stauder, professor of English and humanities at Reed College, has been appointed the acting dean of the faculty for the 2001-02 academic year. Her term will begin on July 1. At the end of the academic year, Stauder will resume her regular duties as a faculty member.

Her scholarly interests include modern poetry, Victorian literature, prosody, and literature and the arts. In particular, her use of innovative rhythm analysis technology has revolutionized the way her students understand poetry and poetics.
Stauder earned her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago, her M.A. at the College of St. Rose, and her B.M. at the Eastman School of Music.
