MICHAEL COLLIER ADDED TO REED COLLEGE VISITING WRITERS SERIES
Poet Michael Collier will read from his work Wednesday, October 25, at 8 p.m at Reed Colleges psychology auditorium. This event, co-sponsored by the Mountain Writers Center, is free and open to the public.
Collier is the author of several books of poetry, including The Ledge (Houghton-Mifflin, 2000), The Neighbor (University of Chicago, 1995), The Folded Heart (Wesleyan, 1989), and The Clasp. The director of the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, which celebrated its 75th anniversary this summer, Collier is also the co-editor of The New Bread Loaf Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry (1999), The New American Poets (2000), and The Wesleyan Tradition: Four Decades of American Poetry (1993). He teaches in the M.F.A. program at the University of Maryland.
