REED AWARDED GRANT TO AID IN STUDENT RESEARCH
Reed College has been awarded a $150,000 grant by the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations to endow a student research fund, an important goal of the Campaign for Reed College. This fund has been a long-standing priority of the president, the dean of students, and the faculty, who wish to see funds made available for student research to ease the financial restraints that prevent Reed students from conducting the highest caliber research.The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations have a long-standing commitment to support higher education in America. The foundations trustees have concentrated their interests in private educational institutions with outstanding records of teaching excellence. Arthur Vining Davis grants go towards support of projects that an institution s president considers to be a top priority in reinforcing the excellence of the institution.
