Reed Garden Club Symposium to be Held in March
The Reed College Garden Club will hold its fourth annual garden symposium on Saturday, March 22 from 10 to 3 p.m. The focus this year is the trees of Portland and Reed and home gardening of trees. Noted tree specialist Phyllis Reynolds, co-author of Trees of Greater Portland (Timber Press) and co-creator of Reed College's tree database, will address the symposium's first session. Other sessions will cover methods of organic fruit-tree growing, general tree care, pruning, and the suitability of certain trees for the home landscape. An optional walking tour of the trees of the campus will also be part of the symposium.
The symposium, which is open to the general public, will cost $24 per person and includes lunch. Checks should be made payable to Reed College and mailed to the Alumni Office, Reed College, 3203 SE Woodstock Blvd., Portland OR 97202-8199.
