Death and resurrection are themes of Reed's annual spring choral concert on Sunday, April 25
TITLE: "Death and Resurrection"
WHAT: The Reed Chorus and Collegium Musicum present a spring choral concert featuring sacred works from the German Baroque

The spring concert continues the theme treated in this year's ROMP!, Reed's annual symposium of music and scholarship, with sacred works from the German Baroque. The program will include the Musicalische Exequien by Heinrich Schütz, written for the funeral of one of his patrons, and music from two of Johann Sebastian Bach's Easter cantatas, "Christ lag in Todesbanden" (Cantata 4) and "Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen" (Cantata 12), accompanied by strings from the Reed Chamber Orchestra. Virginia Hancock, professor of music, will conduct the concert.
The annual spring choral concert is sponsored by Reed College's music department.
