Elijah Anderson to lecture on "Violence and the Inner-City Poor" during Black History Month at Reed College on Wednesday, February 18
WHAT: Sociologist Elijah Anderson will lecture on "Violence and the Inner-City Poor" on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 as a part of Reed College's celebration of Black History Month.
Anderson, professor of sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, is an expert on the sociology of black America and author of several now-classic sociological works including Streetwise: Race, Class, and Change in an Urban Community, The Code of the Street: Decency, Violence, and the Moral Life of the Inner City, and A Place on the Corner: A Study of Black Street Corner Men.
