Steve Shapin
Shapin's work is at the intersection of the history of science, the sociology of knowledge, and cultural history. His books include Leviathan and the Air-Pump: Hobbes, Boyle, and the Experimental Life, A Social History of Truth: Civility and Science in Seventeenth-Century England, and The Scientific Revolution. He is the recipient of the J.D. Bernal Prize for career contributions to the field, Society for Social Studies in Science.
