Dr. Susan Rice
Dr. Rice is senior fellow in the foreign policy studies orogram at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., where her work encompasses a wide range of issues related to U.S. foreign and national security policy. Her research focuses on the national security implications of global poverty and inequality. She is also engaged in the areas of transnational security threats; terrorism; weak and failed states development issues; foreign assistance; post conflict peace-building; the United Nations, including international stability and peace operations; and African affairs. Rice was U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs from 1997-2001.
