DIY ALANA Studies (ALANA)

Recognizing a gap in the curricular offerings at Reed, the Do-It-Yourself ALANA (African American, Latino/a, Asian American, Native American) Studies student group collaborates with faculty from a variety of departments to develop talks and workshops that analyze and explore identities of color. DIY ALANA Studies offers programs and events that foster discussion and debate, while affirming the cultures of communities of color.

Feminist Student Union (FSU)

Feminist Student Union is an organization for persons of all genders to engage in discussion and organize events related to gender, sexuality, sexism, and the promotion of social change. FSU coordinates Women's Week, Speak-Out and discussion groups, and brings artists, performers, and speakers to campus. FSU is NOT about man-bashing, but understanding and R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

-ism

The goal of -ism is to acknowledge the complexities of intersecting oppressions and to provide platforms for recognizing the potential of every Reed student to engage in difficult conversations. The skills and learning gained within this group are expected to contribute to institutional efforts to create discreet and overt opportunities to have productive conversations that become pervasive and accepted parts of campus culture.

Queer Alliance (QA)

Queer Alliance is an all-inclusive organization dedicated to issues of sexuality and gender. There are weekly discussions and meetings, as well as movie nights, Drag Ball, and other activities. In addition, outside educators and entertainers are brought to campus.
