It has full language lessons, vocabulary lists and help, a Russian word podcast, etc. The site can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate, but the number of resources means that it could be useful for almost any Russian language learner. The page on the Cyrillic alphabet is especially useful for beginning students.


This site features free modules with Russian text and vocabulary on subjects like history and science. The site requires a free login and the module displays are outdated, but the rich content provides great practice for intermediate to advanced Russian language learners. This comprehensive guide to Russian pronunciation was prepared at Reed College. The electronic version includes audiofiles. Although this pronunciation help, especially as it connects to the Russian alphabet, is perfect for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners of Russian might also be interested in the detailed descriptions.

Russian for Everyone

Russian for Everyone was created by a professor of Russian at the University of Victoria. The appearance of the website is a bit out of date, but it includes full interactive lessons on a variety of topics. It's especially helpful for practicing conversation and pronunciation, as lessons and other modules include a lot of audio, some of which can be downloaded to use offline. This is a good source for beginning students.
