St. Petersburg University
At St. Petersburg University, students may take courses in a variety of disciplines, with additional compulsory linguistic classes on grammar and conversation. All students will live in Russian homestays with host families, and will be provided 2 meals per day (3 on weekends). This program is focused primarily on the intensive amelioration of Russian language skills, and students wishing to apply must have taken at least 2 years of college-level Russian or the equivalent to qualify. Before leaving for Russia, students take part in an online orientation in order to forge connections with other students, and to familiarize themselves with the program. This is supplemented by a three-day on-site orientation program geared to ease entrance and integration. Support of this kind is offered all throughout the course of the program in both group and individual environments. All classes are taught in Russian.
