National Theatre Institute in Moscow

This program is aimed at Reed Theatre majors wishing to spend a semester abroad at the world renowned Moscow Art Theatre school. There are no language requirements for this program, and Russian language courses are provided as part of the curriculum. In addition to this, students will undergo intensive theatrical training (acting technique, movement and voice lessons, fencing, design) and courses on the history of Russian Theatre. Classes are held 6 days out of the week, from 9am to 5:30pm. This program provides an overwhelming array of cultural events for its students, with as many as 40 or 50 theatrical performances or concerts offered in just one semester. Students will live in dormitories provided by the institute, and will be provided meals in the cafeteria. While there are no language requirements, students much maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to qualify for this program.
