Odyssey and Orientation
Students who have signed up for this program are strongly encouraged to attend a four-day PMP Odyssey, the weekend prior to new Reedie orientation. During the PMP Odyssey, students get to know the city of Portland, learn about networks of support on campus, and build relationships with fellow new Reedies, peer mentors, staff, and faculty.
Mentors and interns organize additional PMP events during Orientation week, so that mentees have an opportunity to stay connected and talk with mentors about questions as they settle into life at Reed.
Throughout the year, the PMP interns plan a variety of interesting events and programs, including birthday celebrations, game nights, off campus excursions, and academic support sessions.
Examples of past outings include trips to the Oregon coast, local museums, bowling, and hikes in the Columbia Gorge. Past support workshops include Humanities 110 paper editing and final exam prep, resume and job search workshops, and assistance with filing taxes and financial aid applications.
