Community Safety Officer
Reed College is recruiting qualified candidates for one full-time and one half-time Community Safety Officer. Expected work schedule will be either an evening or night shift.
Well-qualified candidates will have experience with or ability to work in a non-traditional campus security role where creative problem solving, collaboration and relationship building are emphasized over a traditional enforcement model. Candidates must have strong interpersonal communication skills and be highly skilled in finding creative and timely solutions in diffusing tense, and/or stressful situations. Must have excellent documentation and report writing skills; have proven ability to work as an effective team member with co-workers combined with the ability to work under general supervision. Must have a strong sense of commitment to excellent customer service and a prior background in interpretation and application of guidelines, rules, policies or laws for area of responsibility.
Qualifications: Must have one or more years of community safety or related experience that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. Must have valid drivers license + ability to pass pre-employment physical exam, and comprehensive 10 year criminal background check. CPR, AED, First Aid and/or current DPSST certification is a plus.
