Community Safety Shift Supervisor
Reed College seeks applicants for the position of Community Safety Shift Supervisor. This regular full-time position serves as the supervisor over graveyard shift. This position provides input for evaluating the work of assigned staff; coordinates shift assignments; have the ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective and reasonable course of action, particularly under stressful conditions. Position conducts routine foot and vehicle patrol; performs related tasks as assigned. Requires the ability to work rotating shifts. Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions; must be able to lift heavy objects and use physical force to intervene when necessary. Pre-employment physical required. High School diploma or equivalent, one year post-secondary education in a law enforcement field preferred, and two years of security, law enforcement, or military experience; or any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. Requires a valid drivers license and the ability to be licensed through the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training as a private security guard.
