Instrumentation Chemist

Reed College is recruiting qualified candidates for a full time instrumentation chemist.  The successful candidate will manage research and teaching instrumentation (such as GC-MS, NMR, ICP-MS, AA, FTIR, TGA) in the Chemistry Department, while providing assistance to the Biology Department when possible (microscopes, qPCR).  Responsibilities will include routine maintenance, training faculty and students to use instruments, providing support in instructional and research activities and consulting on the development of experimental protocols.  Qualified candidates will possess significant experience in the use of chemical and/or biochemical instrumentation in research and teaching environments and will have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum qualifications: A Ph.D in chemistry or biochemistry is required.
