Kate Smith, MS, LPC, PMHNP
Kate is the Director of the Health and Counseling Center.
She received her BS in Psychology from Trenton State College, MS in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon, MS in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University, and is currently engaged in doctoral education at OHSU. She is licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and as a professional counselor in Oregon. Kate has worked at the HCC since 2005 and became the Director in 2009.

Mary Leineweber, RNC
Medical Services Manager
Mary has been a health care provider at Reed since 1989 and in her current position as Medical Services Manager since 1995. Her education includes Sociology studies from Oregon State University and a Good Samaritan Hospital/Linfield College RN diploma. Mary is affiliated with American College Health Association and Oregon College Health Association. She is also an active community member having served on the Attorney General's Sexual Assault Task Force, as board chair for Multnomah County School-Based Health Clinic, as a member of the State Immunization Advisory Committee, and as a volunteer for Wallace Medical Concern. Mary's interests include outdoor activities, sports, travel, family time, and last but not least, a genuine love and appreciation for Reedies!

Cathy Leineweber, RN, has worked at the Health & Counseling Center since 1991. She has a BS in Sociology from Portland State University and RN from Good Samaritan Hospital. She is married with three children. Hobbies include traveling, yoga, and gardening.

Sarah Proudman, RN
Working as a nurse since 2003 at the Health and Counseling Center, Sarah has enjoyed interacting and assisting students with their medical needs. Her previous nursing employment consisted of working on a medical/surgical and cardiac unit in the hospital setting, and in case management with disabled adults, children, and the elderly in the home health environment. Sarah's educational background includes an BA in Adolescent Psychology/Counseling from Penn State and a BS in Nursing from University of Portland. In her free time, Sarah enjoys gardening, running, hiking, knitting, and raising farm animals.

Meg takes care of all front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, checking students in, maintaining confidential records, and providing administrative support for providers. Meg's favorite part of her job is interacting with all students, especially international/intercultural students, and in helping with cultural activities for staff participation. She also loves learning new skills.
Off the clock, Meg makes music and pictures (photo and drawing/pastel), pursues mental and spiritual expansion which she applies to life in the physical world, and learns about sustainability/conservation matters/practices, and more.

Grace Walker, RN
Grace is a RN with approximately 30 years' experience. She has experience in obstetrics, cardiovascular, pediatrics, general surgery, clinic nursing, school nursing, and college health. Grace is married with 4 grown children, the youngest of whom is a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama.
