Giving to Reed
Reed parents play a key role in Reed’s financial strength. Every year, a growing number of parents express their support for the college with a gift to the Parents Fund. In fact, last year Reed parents contributed over $500,000 of the $3.6 million raised in annual support of Reed.
Parent donors directly enhance the educational experience for their own children and all Reed students. Their gifts support specific expenditures such as the purchase of new library books, resources for faculty and student research, and student financial aid. Parents may also choose to direct their gifts to financial aid in order to strengthen the resources that enable the college to admit the most qualified students regardless of family income.
Philanthropic support from parents serves as a powerful endorsement of Reed, and many parents honor Reed’s lifelong influence by continuing to give after their students have graduated. Reed appreciates parents who make the college a philanthropic priority.
Parents who would like to expand their advocacy of Reed College beyond their generous philanthropic support may contact Lauren Creany, associate director of the Annual Fund, at 503/517-7904 to learn more about the Parent Council.
