Giving to Reed
The Annual Fund
More than 5,600 alumni, parents, and friends made gifts to Reed through the Annual Fund in fiscal year 2009.
And for the third year in a row, the Annual Fund surpassed $3 million—a truly remarkable show of support for Reed’s mission. Last year, Annual Fund gifts helped the college respond to a challenging economic year without sacrificing the quality of its education. In fact, Reed offered students more than $1 million in addional funding for financial aid over what had been budgeted. A third of this aid came from the Annual Fund.
Reed has set another ambitious goal for the Annual Fund this year. The college hopes to raise $3,450,000 for financial aid, library books, student and faculty research, faculty salaries, classroom technology, campus maintenance, and student resources.

As important as reaching this milestone, is maintaining—in fact growing—a strong base of philanthropic support for Reed. Gifts at all levels are critical to Reed’s financial stability and strength over time.
