Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery, Reed College campus

Calligrapher Dr. Yang Jiyu engages in a public performance of the calligraphy of
Hong Kong artist Tsang Tsou Choi (1921-2007)--the "King of Kowloon"--on the glass walls
surrounding the Cooley Gallery. Dr. Jiyu's public performance marks the opening of the exhibition
and is followed by a public reception from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Xie Xiaoze, exhibiting artist lectures on his painting, photography,
and extensive environmental interventions and installations, one of which,
the Last Days project, specifically addresses the environmental and social
