The Direct Parent PLUS Loan is for parents, to assist them in meeting the educational costs for their dependent student.  Beginning with the 2009-10 academic year, Reed College will participate in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan program.  This change means that Reed parents will borrow PLUS loans directly through the U.S. Department of Education, rather than through private lenders participating in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program.  To learn more, visit the U.S. Department of Education's Direct Loan Program homepage.
