Winter Dance Concert
December 12 & 13, 7:00 p.m.; Greenwood Performance Stage
The Reed College Dance Department presents the 2015 Winter Dance Concert, featuring student-created choreography as well as pieces developed in dance courses throughout the semester.
Professor Minh Tran's advanced contemporary technique course focuses on various elements of choreography. This semester's students have explored these concepts through a series of independently choreographed duets and solors. The concert culminates in an ensemble piece featuring Minh's innovative choreograohy set to an original music composition by Courtney Von Drehle '83.
Additionally, the Winter Dance Concert presents two pieces choreographed by the Reed Dance Troupe, a student organized extra-curricular dance group. These two pieces are completely choreographed, designed, and performed by student dancers. Dance Troupe members meet for several hours each week throughout the semester to bring together their creative vision for the Winter Dance Concert.
The Winter 2015 Dance Concert is made possible with support by the Reed College Dance Department, the Weitkamp Fund, and the Wolfe Fund.
Admission is $3-7, and tickets are available now online, or at the Greenwood box office one hour prior to the concert.
