Emergency Alert Service

On Wednesday, April 2, at 3:00 p.m., Reed will conduct a test of its Emergency Alert system. A test message from President Colin Diver will be sent to students who have signed up for the service as well as to all faculty and staff. The purpose of the test is to evaluate how quickly and reliably the test message is received.

What you need to know:

  1. The message will be sent from this address: emergency-alert@reed.edu
  2. You do not need to do anything when you receive the test message. However, if you have suggestions or questions about the service please feel free to email them to: emergency-alert@reed.edu
  3. If roommates, spouses, or anyone else might receive the test message as a result of contact information you've provided, please let them know in advance that this emergency alert is just a test.
  4. Students who have not enrolled in the system won't receive any messages. Students can enroll in the emergency alert system (or update contact information), before Friday, March 28th, by going to: www.reed.edu/emergency-alert
  5. Faculty and staff are automatically enrolled to receive alerts via office phone and college email. Faculty and staff can also add personal contact information by going to: www.reed.edu/emergency-alert
