Cap & Gown |
|
Cap and gown are provided to the graduates complimentary for the ceremony. Measurements must be given to the Conference and Events Planning office by April 12. All orders include a cap and tassel which are the student's to keep. The robe is returned after the ceremony. MALS degree graduates receive the degree hood at the commencement ceremony, and is the student's to keep. |
Special access needs |

Please call or e-mail the CEP office (503/777-7522) if you or anyone in your party requires special-access seating under the tent for the commencement ceremony. An ASL interpreter will be on stage during the ceremony. Golf cart shuttles will be available to assist people from the parking lot drop off area (Eliot Circle) to the commencement tent. |
Video information |

Order a video (VHS or DVD) of the commencement ceremony for $30, including postage (must be prepaid). Pre-orders at the Reed Bookstore or during commencement weekend in the hospitality suite and information center. |
Tickets |
|
No tickets are required for the Commencement ceremony. Tickets are required for the Columbia Gorge Tour, participants must register in advance. Register here. Graduating students will receive two complimentary tickets for commencement eve and one complimentary ticket for commencement breakfast. These can be picked up at the gown and ticket information center in the Kaul Auditorium building, starting May 17 through commencement weekend. Additional tickets will also be available for purchase at the commencement information center during commencement weekend. |
Lodging |
|
Several nearby hotels offer discounted rates for Reed College friends and family. Ask for the "Reed College" rate when booking. Visit the Reed Lodging Guide for a complete hotel listing. |
Parking |
|
On-campus parking for commencement is limited, and attendees are encouraged not to park on neighborhood streets. Parking on campus is available in the East, West, and North lots. Overflow parking, with shuttles, is available at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden at SE 28th and SE Woodstock; the parking lot on the NE corner of SE 28th and SE Steele Streets; and at the Reedwood Friends Church at SE 29th and SE Steele. Overflow parking areas will be clearly marked. Shuttles between parking lots and the commencement area will operate from 8-11 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Community safety officers will direct you as parking lots fill. Handicapped-accessible parking near the commencement tent is also limited. Shuttle services may be used, or guests with special needs may be dropped off by the commencement tent near the main college entrance at SE Woodstock Blvd. Community safety officers will direct you. Golf cart shuttles will be available to assist people from the parking lot drop off area to the commencement tent. Please note, parking is limited in the west parking lot due to construction. |
Weather |
|
The commencement eve celebration, commencement ceremony and commencement reception are held outdoors under a tent, rain or shine. Please dress accordingly and come prepared for Oregon weather. Suggestions include: an umbrella, jacket/sweater, hat, rain-proof shoes. |
