Adding Reed's preferred Connections and Filters files

Endnote's connection and filter files allow you to remotely search databases and import references directly into your library. We have provided a list of commonly used connections and filters at Reed. To install them, follow the directions below.

Note: These connections and filters files are built into the new Mac installer. Windows users will need to follow our directions below to manually install them.

  1. Quit out of Endnote.
  2. Download this zip file.
  3. Open the zip file, which will extract two sub-folders called Connections and Filters within a folder called Endnote Files.
  4. On Macs, copy the Connections and Filters folders to /Applications/Endnote X1/ and replace the existing folders when prompted to do so.
  5. On Windows, go to C:\Program Files\Endnote X1\ and delete the existing folders called Connections and Filters. After deleting them, copy the new Connections and Filters folders in their place.

Now follow our instructions for searching these databases remotely.
