What: E-Waste collection drive with our recycling partner FreeGeek! All Reed community members are welcome: students, faculty and staff.
When: Wednesday, May 5th. 10am to 2pm.
Where: Eliot Circle, east side (in between the library and Vollum)
Why: Everybody's got old electronics (computers, monitors, printers, TVs, keyboards, mice, CDs/DVDs, etc.) that are obsolete or broken, but the idea of dumping all that plastic, mercury and lead in a landfill doesn't seem responsible. We have a solution: on May 5th, FreeGeek will be on campus to collect your e-waste! FreeGeek works hard to reuse old computer equipment in addition to partnering with local recyclers who process e-waste in an environmentally responsible way.
Learn more about FreeGeek at their website, including the kinds of e-waste they can accept. Contact the Hardware Shop with your questions. See you on the 5th!
Good to note: FreeGeek doesn't currently accept batteries, but EHS does!
