What I Do:
- Implement network security policies and procedures. Monitor the network to detect potential security breaches and attacks and scan the network regularly for security vulnerabilities. Isolate and report problems and implement fixes.
- Install, manage and maintain firewalls, network monitoring, and intrusion prevention and detection systems.
- Monitor security bulletins from REN-ISAC and other sources. Implement network security updates as needed and inform other CIS staff of potential security issues.
- Direct the incident response in the event of a suspected security breach. Perform system forensics, examine firewall, intrusion detection and prevention system, and network monitoring logs to determine if a breach has taken place.
- Monitor network performance. Design and implement network changes and enhancements.
