Campus Services and Amenities

Audio-Visual Services: Reed offers complete audio-visual services and staff.

Bookstore: Sells office supplies, clothing, other items including snacks and convenience store items. Special book sales or displays in conjunction with your conference can be arranged with your Reed conference coordinator.

Computer Usage: All dorm rooms and most meeting rooms are equipped with phone lines. Those bringing laptops may plug in and dial up to their usual ISP's. For presentations requiring high-speed Internet, you may rent a laptop from Reed College and receive access to our Ethernet system (requires 2-week advanced notice).

Reed also provides a computer/printer kiosk in the dining hall for your attendees. This allows attendees access to high-speed Internet, email and printing capabilities. The kiosk includes PCs and MACs, printer, access to the Internet, and MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint software. Check with your conference coordinator for prices and details, at least 60 days prior to conference.

Equipment Rental: Reed can supply all your equipment needs, from tables and chairs to coordinating tent rental.

Library: The Hauser Memorial Library is open Monday through Friday. Library use is limited to reference use only. Internet access is not available at the library for conference attendees.

Mail Service:
Full service mail room including UPS and Fed Ex shipping options. Items shipped to conference attendees must be picked up by the attendee at the Gray Campus Center mailroom.

Nearby Businesses:
A variety of eateries, coffee shops, brewpubs, pizzeria, deli, grocery stores, banks, salons, bicycle shop, ice cream parlor, wine shop, churches, public library, boutiques, and other specialty shops are located just a short walk away on SE Woodstock Boulevard from 39th to 47th avenues, or off Bybee in Westmoreland.

Parking:
Parking is free and ample on campus. There are three parking lots, all within close proximity to housing and meeting facilities.

Print Shop:
Offers copy and fax services during business hours.

Security: Community Safety is on site and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The campus is well lit, residence halls are accessible only by swipe cards, and each residence hall room requires a key. Emergency phones are located throughout campus.

Sports Center: The Watzek Sports Center is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and includes basketball courts, squash, racquetball and handball courts, dance studio, weight room and lap pool. Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by adults. To use the courts, users must wear non-marking court shoes. Facility access is subject to availability and maintenance. The weight room is not available to anyone under 18 years of age. The pool is available for lap swim Monday through Friday.

Staff: Our highly qualified conference coordinators and Summer staff are committed to providing you with top-notch service. They will be on-site and on-call during the duration of your conference.

Transportation:
All of Portland is accessible via its transportation system, Tri-Met, which operates buses, light rail trains and streetcars. Tri-Met's No. 19 bus, Woodstock, passes the southern edge of Reed College about every 15 minutes and ferries riders downtown in 20 minutes. Visitors can take Bus 75, 39th-Lombard to St. Johns, from the intersection 39th and Knight to the popular Hawthorne, Belmont and Hollywood districts. Shuttle service between Portland International Airport and Reed can be pre-arranged for your attendees. Portland also offers taxi and limousine airport service (visit Getting to Reed webpage). The airport is 20 minutes from Reed College.
