This year Lewis & Clark College of Law is hosting the Texas Young Lawyers Association's Regional Mock Trial Competition.  We are seeking volunteers to participate as witnesses in the competition, the weekend of February 11-13.  This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to observe and participate in a mock trial at the law school level.  Furthermore, it is a chance to meet law students, lawyers, and judges from the community.

The competition will be held at the Multnomah County Courthouse (1021 SW 4th Avenue, Portland, 97204) on February 11, 12, and 13.  The arrival times for each round are as follows:

February 11:  5:45 pm
February 12:  8:45 am and 1:00 pm
February 13:  8:45 am and 1:00 pm

Each round should not exceed 3 hours.  Witnesses are free to leave as soon as they finish testifying or are welcome to stay and watch. Students are encouraged to sign up for as many rounds as they want.

In addition to watching the competition, I will make myself available to Pre-Law students after each round of the competition to answer any questions they have concerning law school.  For students interested in applying to law school, this is could be a valuable addition to any law school application to demonstrate a commitment to the profession.
