A note from alumna, Susan Kovac:
I graduated from Reed in 1971 and from Stanford Law School in 1974. After teaching for two years at a small law school in Springfield, MA, I joined the clinical faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Law where I ran a legal aid clinic staffed by third-year law students learning how to actually practice law. In 1991 I joined the Tennessee Department of Children's Services and quickly became the supervising attorney for one-third of the state. My title is now Regional General Counsel. I am a nationally certified Child Welfare Law Specialist and my work focuses on protecting children from abuse and freeing them for adoption when they cannot return home. If that's something current students want to talk about, just let me know.
Join her for an indepth conversation. Bring your lunch to GCC-D and enjoy meeting an accomplished alumna!
