Lois Hobbs' Office, CC-112
12 p.m. Friday, October 1

Applications for the West Point SCUSA conference (held this year from Nov 10-13) are now available from Lois Hobbs in CC-112. They are due back to her by 12 noon on Friday, October 1. The internal application consists of a cover sheet, a resume, and a brief two-page statement of why you want to attend SCUSA, what you will bring to the event, and how you will represent Reed.

An overview of the conference is below; more information is available on the SCUSA website:

SCUSA is a 4-day conference held annually at The United States Military Academy at West Point. The purpose of the conference is to facilitate interaction and constructive discussion between student delegates in order for them better understand the intricacies of the challenges that the United States faces in a global society. The product is a policy proposal to be shared with the rest of the conference and beyond through a new partnership with the Undergraduate Journal of Social Sciences.

In accordance with tradition, SCUSA 62's theme was selected to incorporate examination of an issue that affects both the United States and the rest of the world. This year's theme is "Reconsidering American Hegemony: Facing 21st Century Challenges and the Limits of U.S. Force and Power."
