Churchill (Winston Churchill) Scholarship Deadline
Churchill (Winston Churchill) Scholarship Deadline
Thursday, October 7
Description: A Churchill scholarship awards one,
and only one, year of graduate study in engineering, mathematics, and
the physical and natural sciences leading to a certificate, diploma or
Master of Philosophy degree at Churchill College, Cambridge University,
England. All tuition and fees are paid, with a 10,000-12,000 British
pounds living allowance depending on the course of study. Additional
funding is possible for research and travel. The one-year awards lead
to the Masters of Philosophy (MPhil), the Certificate of Post-Graduate
Study (CPGS in different fields), the Certificate of Advanced Study
(CAS in theoretical or applied mathematics), and a Diploma (in Computer
Science). The Foundation does not accept application for the MPhil in
Engineering for Sustainable Development or other policy-focused
programs. The Foundation Director advises applicants to avoid the
Department of Pathology: "There are ample opportunities in other
departments to pursue similar lines of research."
Eligibility: Applicants
for a Churchill Scholarship must be citizens of the United States and
must be a senior who is enrolled in one of the institutions
participating in the Scholarship Program competition or a student who
has recently graduated from one of those institutions. Upon taking up a
scholarship, a Churchill Scholar must be between the ages of 19 and 26,
hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent, and may not have attained a
doctorate. More information...
