Description: The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship Program was created in 1986 to alleviate a critical current and future shortage of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. Eligibility: Fall sophomores and juniors who have outstanding potential and intend to pursue careers in math, the natural sciences, or engineering; "upper 25% and "B" GPA" (but in fact, the GPA should be 3.7 or higher), U.S. citizen or resident alien.
