Join Sarah Hausman '08 English, to learn about her experience teaching in New Orleans. This will be an informal presentation and mostly Q&A.

Sarah is in her second year with the teachNOLA fellows program and is currently chair of the special education department in her school.

Sarah recently remarked, "Teaching in New Orleans has given me the opportunity to observe the flagrant failures of the public school system and the human consequences of these failures. Teaching Special Education has given me particular insight into the legal bureaucracy that lies behind the educational
system. Teaching children of all kinds has instilled in me a degree of patience and humility I never thought that I could possess."

The Teaching Fellows application for the 2010-2011 school year will be available on November 18, 2009. The deadline to apply is December 14,
