Chicago Career & Internship Connection
American Management Association Conference Center
8655 West Higgins Rd. Chicago, IL 60631
Thursday, January 8, 2009 (9:30AM - 5:00PM)

Overview:
The Midwest Career and Internship Connection blends the best of a career fair and a pre-screened interview event.
*Identify and interact with recruiters from various fields!
*Interview for post-baccalaureate and internship opportunities!

NOTE: While the December 1st pre-selection deadline is passed, you are still encouraged to register and attend the events. Up to 20% of interviews at the CIC’s are scheduled through the Morning Open-Forum, and many employers even hold space for interactions they have at that time.

Pre-selected interviews are only one part of the Career and Internship Connections!! The Morning Open Forum was designed so all candidates have access to recruiters and sets the CICs apart from most other recruiting events. Many employers save space on their schedules for people they meet during this time, and also fill any gaps in their schedule with people they meet. Some employers completely build their schedules during this time!

****OPEN FORUM - Did you know? ****
From 9:30-11:30 there is an OPEN FORUM in ALL FIVE CITIES! This is a time for you to meet employers and network the room. Why bother, you ask?

    * At EACH event an average of 20-40 additional interviews are added to employer's schedules during the open forum.
    * Employers have already indicated it's been very hard for them to pick only 8 students per schedule! They're still interested in you, and this a great way to get some "face time" and get YOUR resume into their hands! Having a face to associate with a name, and even better a few minutes of conversation about their company, will make you that much more memorable.

IMPORTANT!! DRESS FOR SUCCESS!!!!
Business Attire means wear a SUIT. A real one! Our standard disclaimer is "if you feel you look old, you're dressed right." Conservative is the way to go! If you're concerned about your outfit, or have any questions, stop by career services and speak to a counselor.

BE PREPARED!!
Make sure to create a hit list of companies you want to talk to, and do your research ahead of time! If you get an interview, you won't have time during the event to go do research on the spot, so be prepared with information, questions to ask, and your best interview attire!
