Trustee Peter Stockman: On Consulting

Trustee Peter Stockman '77: On Consulting
Friday, February 6, 2009
4:10-5 PM, L41

In this session, Trustee Peter Stockman '77 will teach you how consulting firms evaluate a candidate’s resume. During this session Peter provides pointers and advice about how to present yourself in a resume tailored to a consulting firm.  He will walk through examples of good and bad resumes and illustrate how consulting firms evaluate resume content.

Case interviews are an important evaluation tool that consulting firms use to select candidates.  In the second half of the session, Peter will discuss how to prepare for case interviews and build case analysis skills.  He will demonstrate how a case interview is conducted with brave student volunteer, Onyeka Azike.

Stockman has been a management consultant for more than 20 years. Before he started his own small firm in 2007, Peter was a partner with PA Consulting Group where he led that firm’s capital markets practice in New York.  Before PA, he was a partner for many years with Accenture.  Based in New York he was a member of Accenture’s Global Financial Markets Practice as well as its Energy sector vertical.  He specializes in business strategy, operations improvement and risk management.

This is the first in a series of sessions Peter will conduct on consulting as a career. Please RSVP for this session no later than 5 PM on Tuesday, February 3rd.
