Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) are registered nurses who have completed specialized education and clinical preparation in the medi- cal forensic care of the patient who has experienced sexual assault or abuse. They provide patients with a full forensic examine, including emotion and medical history and documentation of evidence. They provide patients with further resources and may be called to testify in court.
