Whatever your year at Reed, use your time this summer and the tools from this interactive workshop to draft a statement of purpose useful for graduate and professional school admissions, fellowships and awards competitions (Watson and Fulbright, for example), internship and job applications, and even (possibly) your thesis proposal.

Jay Dickson is professor of English and a former chair of the Writing Improvement Committee. Hugh Hochman is associate professor of French & Humanities and chair of the Fellowships & Awards Committee.
