First-year Students

First year students should discuss with an advisor the possiblities of study abroad during your program.  If you are a first-year student interested in mathematics, science, or the environment, see below for eligibility requirements for the Goldwater and Udall scholarships and consider applying for summer research positions.  All students should pursue volunteer, community service, research, or other skills building activities during school breaks. 

Sophomores

Goldwater

For high-achieving entering sophomores or juniors who have research experience obtained during the summer and who intend to pursue a career in mathematics or science at the PhD level. Deadline: November 20, 2014

For entering sophomores or juniors who intend to pursue a career in the environment and have a demonstrated passion for research or activities regarding the environment. Deadline: January 29, 2015

Juniors

High-achieving juniors should examine their postgraduate goals, including study and travel outside the United States, and work on applications.

Goldwater
