Find an Opportunity
Friends of the Children at Reed
Friends of the Children provides our community’s most vulnerable children with full-time, paid, professionally trained mentors (called Friends) to ensure that each child has a positive, consistent and supportive adult in his or her life. We begin working with children in Kindergarten and continue to support them for 12 1/2 years, through high school graduation.
SEEDS partners with Friends of the Children to increase the academic success of their students by matching them with Reed students for one-on-one academic tutoring sessions held on the Reed campus. Most students will be in 3rd through 5th grade, though some may be older.
Tutors make a year-long commitment to tutor once a week for 10 weeks each semester on Thursday afternoon from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Previous tutoring experience is helpful, but not required as training will be provided.
Volunteer applications are due by Sat., Sept. 20th at 11:59 p.m.
