Class year: 1992
Company/organization: Wells Fargo
Job title: Group Head - Technology & Venture Banking
I would love to connect with students. In addition or instead of attending the Schmooze, I am available for one:one meetings during the weekend. Drop me an email and we'll arrange a time to meet. I arrive on Friday.
How did you get where you are? (e.g., education, brief work history, mentors)
A series of accidents and incidents which seems only clear in hindsight.
- Management consulting, teaching finance/investments at university, trading derivatives, and (currently) managing a group of bankers focused on technology and venture sectors.
What lessons have you learned along the way that you'd like to pass on to current Reed students?
Intellectual capital is a necessary but not sufficient condition for success in any endeavor. Collaboration (social capital) is the key.
In what ways you think you can help Reed students?
I can be a resource if you are interested in the technology/innovation economy, cleantech/renewables/environmental finance, and finance/banking.
Since I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, I can hopefully help you avoid making them as well.
What else should students know about you? (e.g., volunteer engagement, avocations, interests)
- Involved with child healthcare issues particularly in developing countries.
- Renewables and environmental finance expertise
- Road cycling, running, hiking, kayaking
