I would love to connect with students. In addition or instead of attending the Schmooze, I am available for one:one meetings during the weekend. Drop me an email and we'll arrange a time to meet. I arrive on Thursday.
How did you get where you are? (e.g., education, brief work history, mentors)
Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. Studied theatre/dance at Reed College in Portland, Oregon and the Moscow Art Theatre School, Moscow, Russia. Worked Los Angeles & Chicago. Portland light-design/TD for tEEth: “Home Made” and “Make/Believe.” Previous bobbevy light design: “Palace of Crystal.” Currently producing theatre with Revive the Red Tent (artistic director Anna Gagne-Hawes): “empowering independent theatre in Fairbanks, Alaska.”
What lessons have you learned along the way that you'd like to pass on to current Reed students?
Don't give up. Acknowledge your privilege. Challenge our racist, unjust status quo.
In what ways you think you can help Reed students?
Telling them about my experiences creating art in theatres around the country.
What else should students know about you? (e.g., volunteer engagement, avocations, interests)
I'm very into digital art and anti-oppression work right now.
