Health Careers Preparation at Reed College

Reed students are strongly encouraged to make contact with a pre-med adviser early in your years at Reed. Health careers admissions boards look for candidates who demonstrate academic capabilities and accrue experience to support claims of commitment to the field. Early awareness of the field's requirements provide you with an understanding of your options and help create a strong argument for your candidacy.

Premed advisors for 2012/2013: Arthur Glasfeld, chemistry, ext. 7679; Jay Mellies, biology, (sabbatical 2012/13); Julie Kern Smith, Center for Life Beyond Reed, ext. 7291; Janis Shampay, biology, ext.7887; Paul Currie, psychology, ext.7267.
