Alumni & Parents

Alumni and parents form the most valuable network available to current Reedies and recent graduates.

Can you or your employer offer an internship or externship? Are you interested in serving as a career resource for current students? Can you help students with networking? We make it easy for you to share your talents with students and graduates.

Be an Adviser: Join the Reed Career Network

The Reed Career Network is a group of alumni and parents who provide valuable information, advice, and referrals to Reedies as they pursue career goals, graduate school, or professional school. Alumni can log on via IRIS with their Kerberos credentials to get started. Learn more about how to update your profile from Greg Byshenk '89.

Parents: Contact Brooke Hunter (503/788-6698) to get connected to the Reed Career Network.

Reed Career Alliance

The Reed Alumni Association-sponsored initiative to support Reed College students and alumni in the development of meaningful careers post-Reed. Learn about Reed's career communities, and ways that you can get engaged.

For alumni interested in supporting career development activities, please email and put “Reed Career Network” in the subject.

Be an Employer: Hire a Reedie

  • Post a Job or InternshipUse Symplicity—our database for jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities—to connect directly with students. Create a profile, then post a job. (Alumni: you can also search posted opportunities by logging on through IRIS.)

Develop Talent: Host a Winter Shadow

Reed Winter Shadows take place in January of every year and allow current students to gain experience in a preferred field in locations across the United States. Contact Nate Martin (503/777-7215) or follow the link above to learn more.
