The bookstore and the commons dining hall share this building at the heart of campus. Downstairs, students buy books and supplies for classes and dorm life. Upstairs, commons is a mealtime gathering place for the entire Reed community, offering repast for a variety of diets and preferences. In nice weather, the patio on the commons quad is quite popular.

The social center of the college is the recently renovated Gray Campus Center. This multi-level complex includes the kitchen, the Gray Fund event coordinator's office, the bookstore, mail services, the pool room, the convenience store, the student dark room and print shop, and the office of the weekly independent student newspaper, the Quest.
