Recycle your tree for baby salmon!
The grounds department would like to repurpose your post-holiday Christmas tree. We are looking for 'clean trees' (free of tinsel, lights and ornaments--no flocked trees, please) to use in the lower canyon to help with stream realignment and habitat improvement that will benefit juvenile salmon.
Drop-off sites have been established in each of the three major parking lots: east lot has a drop spot near the driveway of the Dorothy Johansen house, west lot has a drop spot near the entrance of the Greenwood building, and north lot is receiving trees near the main roadway in between the upper and lower lots.
We will be accepting trees though the month of January.
