Library Staff News

This week, the library welcomes Maria Cunningham as special collections librarian.  Maria comes to us from the Milwaukee Public Library in Wisconsin, where she was rare books librarian.  Previously, Maria held the positions of digital projects librarian and historic photo librarian, also at Milwaukee Public Library.  Maria holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Also new to library special collections is Isabel Lyndon, who  joined the library staff as archives specialist in June.  Isabel received a B.A. in history from Reed this spring.  She worked in special collections and archives as a student and received a president’s summer fellowship in 2016 to explore archives in southwest Ireland.

Laura Buchholz, digital infrastructure and archives librarian, continues her role on the special collections and archives staff.  Laura serves as the library lead for Reed Digital Collections, a collaborative project with Computing and Information Services.  In addition to assisting visitors and classes, she works with scanning and building unique digital collections as well as capturing and preserving born digital archival materials.

Please say hello to Maria, Isabel, and Laura when you see them around campus; or better yet, come visit them at the library’s special collections and archives!
