Flu vaccine clinics

The college is offering no cost flu vaccines to Reed students, faculty, and staff. All flu vaccine clinics will be held in the Gray Campus Center, rooms C/D on the following dates:

~September 25, Monday, 10am to 6pm

~September 27, Wednesday, 3pm to 7pm

~September 29, Friday, 10am to 6pm

No appointment is necessary.

For your convenience, and to expedite the process, here are links to a Patient Consent Form and a Liability Release Form. Both forms need to be completed by all who receive an immunization. You may print out the forms, complete them, and bring them to the clinic. Forms will also be available at the vaccine clinics.

There are many flu viruses that frequently mutate. Each year a new flu vaccine is made to protect against three or four viruses that are likely to cause disease in the upcoming flu season. In the event that the vaccine does not match these viruses, it may still provide some protection. It takes approximately two weeks for protection to develop after vaccination, and protection lasts through the flu season.

You should not get the vaccine if you have any severe, life-threatening allergies, if you have ever had Guillain-Barre Syndrome, or if you are not feeling well. Please refer to the CDC website: www.cdc.gov/flu for further information.
