Campus Announcements

The Biology Department, which houses the Reed Science Outreach program, is excited to welcome its new manager, Presence O’Neal. She brings a wealth of classroom teaching, teacher mentoring, and curriculum-development experience to this position. She has developed curricula and taught 4-8 grade science in the Wounded Knee School District on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and most recently worked in the Preschool Program at Catlin Gabel.

Come this fall, Presence will be responsible for working with ~20 Portland Public and David Douglas school teachers and shepherding approximately 60 Reed students to bring weekly science lessons to more than 500 4th and 5th graders. Please join us in welcoming her to campus, and feel free to stop by the Science Outreach office and prep space in the basement of the biology building (B1A).
